BULLETIN BOARD BONANZA!
Here are some bulletin board ideas. Check out
for ready-made bulletin boards.
(They're getting old, so check to make sure it hasn't been used on your
wing recently.) The best thing to do is identify a need on your
wing (partying, disordered eating, videogaming, etc.) and post up new,
exciting information about that topic with photos, drawings, graphs,
you name it! You don't have to put a research paper up
there. A handful of stunning statistics with a few
eye-catching images is all you need! A handy list of "For more
information, check out..." doesn't hurt. Or tell them to come see
YOU--even better!

Bulletin Board
Mojo
People take great pride in beautifying their boards every
month or two. Regardless of your taste or your R.D.'s
expectations, residents do notice. It's a blank space that looks
like there is supposed to be something there. Use it. Use
it for the residents who don't come to programs. It's called
"Passive Programming" and it can create community like you wouldn't
believe. It gets people talking about issues you post up, or
about each other. It makes them think. For example, there's
a great bulletin board at residentassistant.com called "One Last
Drink." Powerful stuff about college students in alcohol-related
deaths.
Check it out--there are many, many ways to get people connected.
Think outside the box. You were hired because you can.
Bulletin boards: Way more than just cork and staples.
