  .PERSONAL INFORMATION

I am a father, initially reluctant, coach and mentor to some.

Most adults focus exclusively on their own family. To focus on our own family is important . However, in a crisis, such as Hurricane Katrina, if we only focus on our selves or our family, everything around us can come crashing down. In earlier times, if our neighbor suffered a great loss, our community would come together to find and implement a solution. If it meant raising a barn, a fence, a roof or our attention to just listen. Out of necessity, "out of many, we are one".

The 19th and 20th Centuries were replete with events that we would just as well forget; greed, indifference to suffering, hatred and vengeance alone fill the pages of history.  However, we would be in error to forget the barn-raising ethic of the 19th and early 20th Century; where the needs of a neighbor got a higher priority than purely personal priorities, at least for a time.

If you have a talent, a gift or ability you are blessed.  We invite you to share the barn-raising ethic that has lasted for generations to make your community great again.

With so much to do we need your help. Do what your hands find to do to raise your community barn, the storehouses of hope for the next generation. Be someone that your communty looks up to as a pattern for the future. Come along side your neighbors and lend a hand and your creative mind to form and implement solutions that we all agree is worth it.

By being a tangible example of what is possible we provide real options for our youth as they navigate their future.

"Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he."

-- Proverbs 29:18. King James, The Bible Gateway
